I was at Green Beret Foundation HQ in San Antonio in the great state of Texas for a Board of Directors meeting and got to sit down with Jen Paquette, who runs the Foundation. We go way back to 2010 when neither of our organizations had anything but a dream to create something that did right by the Special Forces community. It’s been a great ride ever since.

And yeah, we have a sibling style relationship and this was a lot of fun. (We should do it more often, Jen).

A couple things we discussed:

• Green Berets and her why (namely, her husband Roland, a wounded GB who is not defined by his injuries)
• GBF x GORUCK stuff (I was her first Cadre, she hated me. Like I said, brother/sister)
• Why GBF exists (the men on the Wall of Honor and their families)

If you’re out there looking for female role models – or role models in general for that matter – Jen’s a great one and I’m proud to call her a friend.
