When in the South, there is no substitute for homemade everything. When that is not possible, the stuff at Carolina Cider Co. does the trick. The store is just a few minutes of I-95 at exit 33 in South Carolina. Samples are everywhere, as are smiles.
Out into the suburbs to stay with family. After catching up for a long while, we kayaked to an old plantation, docked at a magnolia field, in knee-high mud, and then just wandered around. Jo Ann gave us a small tour and then we had the best pecan pie in south carolina, and therefore (we assume) the world.
The Blind Tiger. Our favorite Charleston hangout, especially with a game of ring toss in the courtyard throw in. Frederick made us the best burgers in town, with local beer to wash it down. (Local's always the right answer).
