Tribe Kids: August Workout Details

Tribe Kids officially kicks off in August 2021, with the overarching annual theme of SEEK ADVENTURE. Subscribe your kid and each month you receive a new patch. In exchange, your kid does the workout, reads the book, and completes other related challenges. We’ve designed Tribe Kids to encourage children to enjoy the GORUCK way of life: get outside, sweat with your friends to stay fit, and find a way to serve something greater than yourself.

The monthly programming is designed by educators and parents who understand physical development, as well as social and emotional growth. Keeping workouts fun, and giving children minimal loads in their ruck that is age and developmentally appropriate is of the utmost importance. 

Movement and community engagement should not be forced; encouraging children to do things that they love and modeling behaviors that meet the goals of the program is always a plus.

August Workout for Kids 8 and Under

“Blastoff”

AMRAP in 3-5 minutes (or until it should end):

  • 5 Earth push-downs
  • 5 Rocket jumps
  • 5 Astronaut hops per foot
  • Run back to the start

End the workout when your child is no longer excited to be doing it. Keep it fun!

August Workout for Kids 8-12 Years Old

“Blastoff”

AMRAP in 8 minutes:

  • 5 burpees over the ruck
  • 10 ruck high pulls
  • 10 one-legged hops (per leg)
  • High crawl back to the start
