Jack and I grew up together in Jacksonville and didn’t know any better than to spend all our time outside. Old habits die hard, so when we were back in Action-ville together, we crashed his parents backyard, sent out an open invite to old friends, and started backyarding. Smiles come easy, there’s no rush, and if I had it my way, these kinds of nights would last forever.
Beer vs Martinis — I’m more of a beer guy. But when Mr. Barley offers you a drink, he always does it with a twinkle in his eye. And you say yes please and when it arrives you say thank you very much, sir. And it’s delicious so it goes down quickly and before you know it he’s got another twinkle in his eye.
And then the bourbon comes out and even longer stories of past memories are told, and re-told, and there’s no place I’d rather be in the entire world.
Blanton’s Bourbon is easily one of the finest bourbons in the world and my personal favorite. You can’t beat quality.
