“I am absolutely emotionally overwhelmed and drained after the past 2 days. I have no idea how many miles we covered but this HTL wrecked me in all the ways I hoped it would, and then some. I made the mistake of not eating enough between the Heavy and the Tough and bonked hard. We’re talking body shakes hard. It’s hard to explain how bad it was and how dark a place I ended up. I honestly thought this stupid error was going to take me out and I started fixating on the issue and feeling like I was letting down the team. Luckily for me, I wasn’t alone and Chris spent hours shoveling Snickers into my mouth and pep talking me out of my head. Ultimately, as the sun came up, I punched those demons in the throat and clobbered the rest.
This was the hardest physical thing I’ve ever done by far. I’m so happy I got to experience these 48 hours of “fun” with Chris Malloy and David Andrews, some kick-ass teams, and some seriously A-Game Cadre.
I’m scratched, bruised, bitten, blistered, and broken, but I’m so goddamn proud.
Now if you’ll excuse me I need to eat as much as possible and sleep for a year.”
