Ride For the Wounded, Coast 2 Coast at GORUCK HQ

It coulda been any of you depending on who happened to go down what hallway in some shanty house in some far away corner of the world. But some live and your buddy dies call it 50 years too soon. Maybe I shoulda done this or done that is the second wave of attack on the survivors, violent in different ways and warfighting is a full contact sport and you know the deal when you sign up. In fact, that’s why you sign up. But we’re all human – warfighters and poets and all of us and losing a loved one is a universal pain, as human as existence itself.

To honor his buddy, Chris (above left) rounded up some guys to ride across America, talking to people of a fateful night and raising some awareness for the wars we’re still fighting and here’s the thing. If you survive you’ve got a lot to deal with and doing something as opposed to nothing is the slow road to peace, however much you can find in the hearts of others, and in your own.

So do that if you miss someone and thanks to the guys for ridin’ into town and sharing their stories and our place is yours anytime and the beer light’s always on.
